SHADOW:
Israeli forces storm Gaza aid ship (2010-05-31 14:08:11)

--> Last reply

More than 10 people have been killed after Israeli commandos stormed a convoy of ships carrying aid to the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army says.

Armed forces boarded the largest vessel overnight, clashing with some of the 500 people on board.
.......
Israel says its soldiers were shot at and attacked with weapons; the activists say Israeli troops came on board shooting.

I was just going to post this...omg. This is very bad. Israel taking control of these ships on international waters...omfg

Shadow: (2010-05-31 14:32:03)
Hej Octo its fuckin bad. Real bad. Of course Israel is playing the victim. Some comments I read suggest Hamas set them up oh jeez. Not good.

Shadow: (2010-05-31 14:32:51)
It's a de facto attack on Turkey.

Octo: (2010-05-31 14:36:45)
it's a real high profile event, some Swedes (a well known author and a doctor at least) but the the govt have been denied to contact them. This is really fucking bad

Octo: (2010-05-31 14:40:57)
The flotilla of ships, carrying a reported 600 people from around 50 different nations, left Cyprus on Sunday evening and was due to arrive close to Gaza on Monday morning. The convoy, loaded with 10,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid, was intercepted in international waters, 65 nautical miles off the Gaza coast, by Israeli warships and helicopters.

A live feed broadcast from a Turkish registered ship in the convoy shows Israeli forces boarding the ship and opening fire at around 8pm. Israeli military sources have confirmed ten dead, but other reports indicate that the death toll could be as high as nineteen, with dozens more injured.

Eleven Swedes are participating in the aid convoy including the author Henning Mankell, theologian Ulf Carmesund, Jewish artist and musician Dror Feiler and Swedish Green Party MP Mehmet Kaplan.

Swedish Green Party leader Peter Eriksson said that they had lost contact with Kaplan at around 5pm expressed concern over his fate in what he described as a completely legitimate and reasonable non-violent protest.

"If Israel has used extensive violence and killed people then it has to be seen as very serious. And it is important that there are strong reactions from both Sweden and other countries," Eriksson told news agency TT

the local

so Israel managed to piss off AT LEAST 50 different nations simultaneously this time

Found an article from a week or so ago but the link won't work either, I'll post the secondary source though

Antalya: Defying strict warnings from Israel, the largest-ever naval convoy will embark from Turkey's southern Antalya port on Wednesday in the ninth attempt by international activists to break Israel's illegal siege and deliver aid to Gaza.
Gulf News has a seat on the ‘Freedom Flotilla', consisting of nine vessels carrying 800 passengers, including international activists and journalists, and 10,000 tonnes of aid.
Israel has issued strict warnings and even threatened to fire upon the convoy. Last week, Naor Gilon, deputy director general at Israel's foreign ministry, told ambassadors of Ireland, Greece, Turkey and Sweden that the mission is "a provocation and a breach of Israeli law".
Gilon added that "Israel has no intention of allowing the flotilla to enter Gaza". Half of Israel's navy has reportedly been conducting exercises in preparation to stop the flotilla.

One good thing, with so many activists from different countries, they will tell what happened. Israel can cover up what goes on in Gaza but they can't stop 600 people from 50 nations telling the truth

Octo: (2010-05-31 15:17:04)
The EU is holding an extra meeting due to this incident and Israeli ambassadors have been questioned separately in all EU countries it seems. I hope we'll get some more info soon

It's time to to stop playing pretenzies here, these fucking lizards invented god and their special fuck relationship to god in order to control us all via guilt, in truth, these zionist ass wipes are a bit different from the rest of us, in the most fucking reptilian way.

I've never seen a situation that could be cured with nukes until today. Anti semitic doesn't do justice to the fucking rage the world is feeling today. I hope gods chosen are ready for a nice radiation party.

Angry PC User: (2010-05-31 15:58:44)
The flotilla had purposefully stopped for the night in international waters with plans of trying to run the blockade in the daylight. For Israel to attack them in international waters is no different that the somali pirates attacking the ships. It is piracy, pure and simple. Of course those on board tried to defend themselves with whatever was at hand. The only "weapons" on board were those carried by the pirates. If a few of them had their weapons taken and used against them then oh well.

Like the Al Jazeera reporter said to the Israel PR guy, if they wanted to minimize the potential for bad things happening, then why didn't they arm at least the first wave with "Non-lethals" or "less lethals" like rubber bullets and have a second wave standing by with live ammo. This was a pirate raid in international waters. How is this different from the somali pirates attacking a US ship in international waters?????

JayRodney: (2010-05-31 16:03:10)

TWO MORE BOATS WILL TRY TO BREACH BLOCKADE!
Fighting broke out between the activists and the masked Israeli troops, who rappelled on to deck from helicopters before dawn.

A spokeswoman for the flotilla, Greta Berlin, said she had been told ten people had been killed and dozens wounded, accusing Israeli troops of indiscriminately shooting at "unarmed civilians". But an Israeli radio station said that between 14 and 16 were dead in a continuing operation.

"How could the Israeli military attack civilians like this?" Ms Berlin said. "Do they think that because they can attack Palestinians indiscriminately they can attack anyone? (Apparently so... JR)

"We have two other boats. This is not going to stop us."

But an Israeli military spokeswoman said that there had been a planned and organised attempt to "lynch" the boarding party. She said the activists were armed with knives and guns.

The Israeli government's handling of the confrontation was under intense international pressure even as it continued. The Israeli ambassador to Turkey, the base of one of the human rights organisation which organised the flotilla, was summoned by the foreign ministry in Anakara, as the Israeli consulate in Istanbul came under attack.

One Israeli minister issued immediate words of regret. "The images are certainly not pleasant. I can only voice regret at all the fatalities," Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, the trade and industry minister, told army radio.

But he added that the commandoes had been attacked with batons and activists had sought to take their weapons off them.

Israeli military sources said four of its men had been injured, one stabbed, and that they had been shot at.

"The flotilla's participants were not innocent and used violence against the soldiers. They were waiting for the forces' arrival," they were quoted by a news website as saying.

The flotilla had set sail on Sunday from northern, or Turkish, Cyprus. Six boats were led by the Mavi Marmara, which carried 600 activists from around the world, including Mairead Corrigan Maguire, the Northern Ireland peace protester who won a Nobel Prize in 1976.

It came under almost immediate monitoring from Israeli drones and the navy, with two vessels flanking it in international waters. The flotilla, which had been warned that it would not be allowed to reach Gaza, attempted to slow and change course, hoping to prevent a confrontation until daylight, when the Israeli military action could be better filmed.

But in the early hours of this morning local time commandoes boarded from helicopters.

The activists were not carrying guns, but television footage shown by al-Jazeera and Turkish television channels show hand-to-hand fighting, with activists wearing life-jackets striking commandoes with sticks.

The Israeli army said its troops were assaulted with axes and knives.

The television footage did not show firing but shots could be heard in the background. One man was shown lying unconscious on the deck, while another man was helped away.

A woman wearing hijab, the Muslim headscarf, was seen carrying a stretcher covered in blood.

The al-Jazeera broadcast stopped with a voice shouting in Hebrew: "Everyone shut up".

Israel imposed its blockade on Gaza after the strip was taken over by the militant group Hamas in 2007. It has allowed some food and medical supplies through, but has prevented large-scale rebuilding following the bombardment and invasion of 2008-9.

The flotilla is the latest in a series of attempts by activists to break through the blockade. The boats were carrying food and building supplies.

Activists said at least two of the other boats, one Greek and one Turkish, had been boarded from Israeli naval vessels. Activists said two of the other boats in the flotilla were American-flagged.

The confrontation took place in international waters 80 miles off the Gaza coast.

It was attacked by the head of the Hamas government in Gaza, Ismail Haniyeh.

"We call on the Secretary-General of the U.N., Ban Ki-moon, to shoulder his responsibilities to protect the safety of the solidarity groups who were on board these ships and to secure their way to Gaza," he said.

Turkish television meanwhile showed hundreds of protesters trying to storm the Israeli consulate in Istanbul. The incident will be particularly damaging for Israel's relations with what had been seen as its closest ally in the Muslim world.

"By targeting civilians, Israel has once again shown its disregard for human life and peaceful initiatives," a Turkish foreign ministry statement said. "We strongly condemn these inhumane practices of Israel.

"This deplorable incident, which took place in open seas and constitutes a fragrant breach of international law, may lead to irreparable consequences in our bilateral relations."

Israel's closest ally Washington described the loss of life as a "tragedy" on the eve of talks between President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"The United States deeply regrets the loss of life and injuries sustained and is currently working to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragedy," a White House spokesman said.

Ship to Gaza and the Freedom Flotilla received a threatening fax from the Israeli maritime authorities today, 30 May, declaring that Israel has, without further ado, expanded its “security zone” to 68 nautical miles, effective immediately.

In an email to Ship to Gaza, Professor Richard Falk, one of the world's leading experts on international law, commented on the message: “Israel's unilateral establishment of a 68-mile security zone without any legitimate security basis for apprehension is a deliberate further unlawful provocation, encroaching on the freedom of navigation on the high seas.”

Egypt forgets the past lost wars practices invading Israel

Egypt has forgotten the Israeli army crossing the Suez in 1973. On Sunday Egyptian military forces simulated an invasion of southern Israel.

Dubbed «Badr-2010» the exercise featured an armed crossing of the Suez Canal followed by a deep thrust into «enemy territory» reported the The only «enemy» territory west of the Suez Canal is Israel.

Israel has repeated protested Egyptian military maneuvers in which the unidentified enemy is obviously Israel. Egypt and Israel signed a peace deal in 1979, and as a reward Egypt was granted ongoing US military aid and equipment that would make up the bulk of the arms used in any future attack on Israel.

The Egyptian exercise was almost ignored by the media, which instead focused on a Israeli defensive maneuvers in northern Israel that simulated a Hizballah missile attack on the Jewish state. Unlike the Egyptian exercise, the Israeli maneuver was held in response to very real threats of attack by Hizballah, and were purely defensive in nature.

Nor is Israel at peace with Hizballah or its Lebanese hosts. Egypt is at peace with Israel, but continues to treat it as an enemy nevertheless.

Typical, Israel always takes the victim role regardless of what was actually said.

JayRodney: (2010-06-04 16:54:35)
I too, hope this doesn't get confrontational again. As long as there are no weapons on board, why should aid be a threat to anyone?
Yes the Turks fucked up by the attacks on the IDF, but the the IDF should not have been in International waters, and it goes on and on.
The Red Cross claims Israel is only letting 20% of all aid sent to the Palestinians and the rest is turned away. We're letting children starve in the name of some 5000 year old manifest destiny in bed with god issues.

DEMOCRATIC HOUSE REP: JAIL US CITIZENS WHO WERE PART OF FLOTILLA

A Democratic member of the US House of Representatives says he wants to see US citizens aboard the Gaza flotilla prosecuted for providing aid to terrorists.

In a conference call organized by The Israel Project, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) told reporters that activists participating in the flotilla were aiding Hamas and therefore breaking US law.

“The Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996 makes it absolutely illegal for any American to give food, money, school supplies, paper clips, concrete or weapons to Hamas or any of its officials,” Sherman said, as quoted at Jim Lobe's foreign policy blog. "And so I will be asking the Attorney General to prosecute any American involved in what was clearly an effort to give items of value to a terrorist organization.”

I'd buy it ~ except the Flotilla Folks would have been all over this by now. None of it (attack on Marines) has been denied.

Check:

Pro-Palestinian 'Peace Activists' Tried to Take Hostages

Middle East | Fri, Jun 4, 2010 at 2:47:03 pm PDT

Now the truth is coming out about the Mavi Marmara incident.

Apparently, the first four Israeli marines who rappelled onto the ship were savagely beaten and overwhelmed. You can see this taking place in the video released by the IDF.

And then, the “peace activists” dragged these four injured soldiers belowdecks and tried to make them hostages.

At which point, the rest of the Israeli forces decided to end the incident with live fire.

And this report doesn’t come from the Israeli government.

It comes from an Al Jazeera cameraman who was aboard the ship.

BEIRUT, June 3 (Reuters) - Activists on a Gaza-bound Turkish ship seized four Israeli marines before other commandos stormed aboard using live ammunition, a Lebanese cameraman said in an account on Thursday that echoed elements of Israeli testimony.

There were sharp differences in the versions of Monday’s events at sea on the cruise liner Mavi Marmara. Witnesses freed after three days incommunicado in Israel accused troops of war crimes; Israel held to its line that they fired in self-defence.

But the account from Andre Abu Khalil, a cameraman for Al Jazeera TV, echoed other testimony, from both sides, that after an initial landing by a small group of commandos armed with anti-riot weapons was overpowered by activists wielding sticks, a second wave of marines stormed in, killing those in their way. …

Abu Khalil told Reuters by telephone from the southern Lebanese village of Marjayoun: “There were four Israeli soldiers brought to the lowest deck. They had fracture wounds.”

As this is possible with professional software such as Adobe after-effects or so I don't see why they would take the time to edit out the name of the ship

There are so many different versions of this story, I don't think we're getting anything but propaganda. The Swedes have a totally different story that talks about execution style violence. "I in no way intended to demeaned your abilities/talents in regard to debunking!"

Oh, man Daj, I think you took me the wrong way- naah it's just that we've been called in to examine the authenticity of more than a few vids, we CAN and DO remain impartial.

I'm not in denial of any violence Daj, that's for someone with human testimony and something more substantial than obvioulsy faked video evidence to sort out. It's just they are showing the wrong ship in the video, plan and simple.

This can't end well. I read it at MSNBC and thought bullshit, but sure enough...

Iran ready to escort Gaza aid ships

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has expressed readiness to escort aid convoys seeking to pierce the three-year Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.

The announcement comes nearly one week after Israeli navy commandoes killed nine activists onboard the Turkish flagship of the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla, a convoy of nine ships carrying aid to the impoverished Palestinians trapped inside the enclave since 2007.

"In the wake of (last week's) unfair attack, it is Iran's duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza," Mehr News Agency, quoted Ali Shirazi, the Leader's representative in the IRGC naval forces, as saying on Sunday.

The IDF will kill as long as the USA supports them and that will be forever, get used to the slaughter paid for and encouraged by idiotic America.

I would love to see the chicken shit IDF up against an army that would shoot back, maybe Hitler was onto something?

JayRodney: (2010-06-07 14:43:13)
To AC: (2010-06-06 18:25:34)This IS big enough to go viral, I'm going to do an article about this and host it here. One would think the evidence speaks for itself.
We stumbled onto what would appear to be an outright deception masquerading as fact, and I feel the world needs to at the very least examine the evidence.

AC: (2010-06-07 15:14:05)
- id do it too JR -

- It's everyone's moral obligation to stand up against lies -

Shadow: (2010-06-07 15:22:33)
Good morning AC, JR er, afternoon JR lol.

The problem will be getting it out there. No msm will carry this, watching BBC CBC FOX CNN etc siding with the 'IDF has a right to defend itself' line of bullshit.

JayRodney: (2010-06-07 15:53:31)
Yup, it's going to be difficult at first, but it will make the rounds. Waiting to hear from CmndrDraco to get the go ahead, there may be rough sailing.

It's safe to say the usual suspects already know about this, I could let it go for a million bucks in my bank account. Id shut the forum down and never appear on the internet again. No questions asked. Every man has his price, my email address is available in the disclaimer section of the forum.

The Black Friar: (2010-06-07 17:44:41)
You go Jay.... this does need to come out. I've told several friends to take a look at this thread....the response is a general

FreeFlow: (2010-06-09 14:20:12)
Great catch guys!!!

Tho side by side comparisons would be easier to check, I am having difficulties with the animation, just saying, anyways it's not the same ship that is crystal clear

JayRodney: (2010-06-09 14:43:57)
Thanks FF! It's been a few years since I've seen you around, hope all is well.

Octo: (2010-06-09 14:46:38)
Hey FreeFlow, I was going to make a better quality animation as this one was made in about 5 minutes for my own research...so little time, so much to do

FreeFlow: (2010-06-09 15:40:38)
Hey JR and Octo !!!

You know I am up ridingthe carousel of live still lol, the daily struggle as usual but generally I am OK, hope you are fine too!

I understand Octo it's a lot of work, I mean it's obvious enough that it's never the identical ship, the big black superstructure on the top alone says it.

I hope you folks don't mind that I have a thread about this on LOP , I linked to the thread here ....
http://lunaticoutpost.com/Topic-Ship-in-the-IDF-attack-video-is-NOT-the-Mavi-Marmara

Octo: (2010-06-09 15:44:08)
no problems!

JayRodney: (2010-06-09 15:52:02)
Thats great FF and bless you! Most of us here and LOP, go back a long way. It's important to have good relations with other forums!

FreeFlow: (2010-06-09 15:58:03)
Yeah JR, interforum wars only benefit TPTA, that's right.

Btw how do I get to your forum frontpage? It only opens 'Post a new thread' when I click on the forum banner on the top left ....

Meanwhile I added the other link that goes to youtube vid too, you know the one with the title 'Israel Defense Force video of siege of 'Mavi Marmara' Hoaxed!'

FreeFlow: (2010-06-09 15:59:53)
Ah my bad, it's just below that POST NEW THREAD field ...

JayRodney: (2010-06-09 16:21:00)
It's easy once you get the hang of it FF, it's just a bit different at first.

The Black Friar: (2010-06-09 16:34:11)
i didnt get it at first either, because it was almost too easy.... i was expecting it to be like above top secret or something i guess..

Octo: (2010-06-11 18:38:47)
LOL! I was going to comment on the GLP thread about this, but *my IP has been banned*

Anon: (2010-06-12 04:08:10)
The ship missing the name is interesting, but does anyone think that the night vision might have something to do with this?

Octo: (2010-06-12 04:48:47)
no, but please enlighten us

JayRodney: (2010-06-12 04:58:33)
No Anon, Not at all.

Night vision facilitates the brightening of EVERYTHING. Its based on magnifying Photons (enhancing the available light) as opposed to the brutal critical thinking flaws brought about by ignorance, conjecture, emotion and Israeli citizenship.
You can catch the outcome of such at another popular forum where the blind lead the blind, but you cant get there from here.

AC: (2010-06-12 05:22:32)
"but you cant get there from here."

Thank god for small favors.

Anon: (2010-06-12 05:26:28)
I think it was thermal imaging not night vision.

"Because different materials absorb and radiate thermal energy at different rates, an area that we think of as being one temperature is actually a mosaic of subtly different temperatures. This is why a log that’s been in the water for days on end will appear to be a different temperature than the water, and is therefore visible to a thermal imager. FLIRs detect these temperature differences and translate them into image detail."

Octo: (2010-06-12 20:36:50)
yes I read about that thanks Anon...it just doesnt explain why that would cause the sign with the ships name to disappear
